Tina In-Albon and Laura Kraus developed an additional section to the Kinder-DIPS at the university of Koblenz-Landau. These questions capture non-suicidal self-injury in children and adolescents (DSM 5, section 3: conditions for further study). These questions are only available in the youths' version.

Tina In-Albon and Laura Kraus at the University Koblenz-Landau developed an adapted Version of the Kinder-DIPS for adolescents and young adults between 15 and 21 years for their study "Self-Injury: Treatment, Assessment, Recovery (STAR).
